Accessibility to scientific knowledge is fundamental to promote the full development of countries like Brazil, which population still faces great social inequalities. The access of all citizens to quality education must be a commitment of Brazilian society if we are to achieve the social development that we aim for.
In the biological and health courses of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), there are only 10 students with visual impairment-low vision and one student with visual impairment-blindness. Possibly, the low number of students with visual impairment results from the lack of preparation of the courses, such as lack of adequate didactic material. In this way, this project aims to research and develop techniques for teaching the cells, biological tissues and organs for students with visual impairments (blindness and low vision) who are attending middle, high and undergraduate education.
